Your dashboard: ammo prices, deals and your numbers every morning

Updated By Project Parabellum3 min readArticle

Most mornings start the same way. Did anything I'm waiting on come in? Is 9mm cheaper than last week? What did I look up yesterday that I meant to order?

The dashboard puts those answers on one screen. It's included with Pro and Pro+, and it's under Dashboard in the sidebar.

Price Watches: the ammo you buy, by the round

A price watch tracks the cheapest in-stock price per round for a kind of ammo you describe. Not one UPC, a description. "9mm, 50-round boxes, brass case, FMJ" matches every product that fits, from every distributor, and the watch follows whichever one is cheapest right now.

Hit Add watch and fill in the filters: Caliber, Rounds / box, Case material, Bullet type, Manufacturer and Grain weight. Leave any of them on Any to ignore it. As you set them, the dialog tells you how many products match and what the cheapest one costs per round, so you can tell right away if you've narrowed it down to nothing.

Pick a trend window, 7 days or 30, and save.

Each watch card shows:

  • The cheapest price per round, and what that box costs
  • How that price has moved over your trend window, green when it's cheaper and red when it's gone up
  • The product that's cheapest right now, which you can click to see every distributor's price and stock

Only products that are in stock count, so the number is always something you could order today. Drag the cards to put the ones you care about most first.

The prices on a watch are the prices distributors publish. They aren't adjusted by your pricing rules.

The rest of the screen

Your Numbers has four tiles: searches this month, price watches, active BullsEye alerts, and saved to date.

Today's Top Deals shows up to four of today's deals.

Bullseye Alerts lists your BullsEye Watches, in-stock ones first. View all takes you to the full list.

Recent Searches shows your last four lookups, with how many distributors returned it and the lowest listed price. That's the "what did I mean to order yesterday" panel.

Account shows your FFL status and your plan.

There's also a search box up top, so you can look something up without leaving the page.

You can hide panels you don't use and change their order. See Your dashboard, your order.

What "saved to date" means

For every product you search where at least two distributors have it in stock, we take the difference between the highest and lowest price. "Saved to date" adds those differences up.

That's the spread you could have paid for one unit if you'd ordered from the most expensive distributor instead of the cheapest. It isn't a tally of what you actually bought. It's a fair picture of what comparing is worth, and it grows with how much you use search. The full version, with how it compares to what you've paid for your membership, is on the Search page above your search history.
